Deciding on the best location for your engagement session is one of the most exciting parts of planning! As an Portland engagement photographer, I’ve discovered over 50 gorgeous locations that I can now recommend. Because Oregon has some of the most unique landscapes ranging from the Coast to Mount Hood, you won’t be left disappointed by lack of options. Choosing a location to suit both the bride and groom can be overwhelming at times– that’s why I have put together a simple list of my TOP 5 engagement locations in Oregon.

1. Portland Rose Garden

This garden is a little piece of paradise! Surrounded by roses, greenery, and romantic trails, the Portland Rose Garden is a beautiful location for vibrant, lively photos.

2. Cape Kiwanda

My personal favorite– the Oregon Coast displays the most unique landscape and natural rock formations. The open shoreline is the perfect place to turn your memories into photographs.

3. Columbia Gorge

This gem is about a 45 minute drive from Portland; it’s my secret spot for those glamorous golden hour shots. Once the sunset reflects off the water, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about! It’s perfect for the outdoorsy, fun couple. (It can get a bit windy at times.)

4. Mt.Hood National Park

Mountain lovers– this is the place for you! Mt. Hood is great in the summer and winter months because there are many lakes, waterfalls, and hikes. This is perfect for the couple that wants to capture the Pacific Northwest’s iconic views.

5. Smith Rock National Park

This park is quite a drive but totally worth it! Just 3 hours from Portland, Oregon, Smith Rock boasts stunning scenic views along the trail and from the incredible rock itself. This is for the adventurous and free spirited!
